Who We Are
Meet The Owners
We are privileged to steward Cherry Basket Farm and share it with others. We always wanted to "get married on land that we loved" but didn’t think it would happen until, in a twist of fate, we found the farm and exchanged our own vows here in October 2020 while live-streaming to our families.
We share a deep passion for protecting natural areas, wildlife habitat and working lands for future generations.
For us, Cherry Basket Farm is a place to build community, host celebrations, and support land conservation. Our focus is blending beautiful aesthetics with shared values. We are a supportive space for all unions, all traditions and uphold the belief that love is love. For weddings and private events, we encourage partnerships with Leelanau’s talented creative community, which is filled with professionals able to craft and deliver memorable celebrations in one of the peninsula’s most remarkable settings.
We hope you are inspired to create your own unforgettable event at "The Basket" and invite you to become part of the farm's storied history and its future as a model of abundance and sustainability.

Our Commitment to
While the farm is a big part of our lives, so are environmental values and issues. We whole-heartedly believe in the importance of open space, and we value the work of land trusts and land conservancies throughout the United States, including in Michigan, to do the important work of protecting natural areas and farmland — their work is voluntary, local, community-driven, nonpartisan, charitable and enduring.
But perhaps the most powerful rationale for conservation is the land itself and all that it provides: pure drinking water, healthy food, clean air, carbon sequestration, habitat for wildlife, and places for people to reflect, recreate, and celebrate all life has to offer. This aligns with our vision for Cherry Basket Farm.
By holding your wedding or event at Cherry Basket Farm, you support investments in the property that enhance its beauty, make it more climate-resilient, and provide habitat for wildlife.
